Zi guftār-i dihqān: Shāhnāmah-yi Firdawsī bih naẓm va nathr Persiska (Farsi) 2025

“Ze Goftār-e Dehqān (From the Words of the Farmer)” is a poetic and prose retelling of Hakim Abol-Qasem Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, prepared by Eqbal Yaghmaei. The work preserves selected passages from Ferdowsi’s original verse while presenting the narratives in fluent prose, making the stories and themes of the Shahnameh more accessible to contemporary readers.

The Shahnameh, the greatest national epic of Iran, recounts the mythical, heroic, and cultural history of the land. Eqbal Yaghmaei (1911–2006) was an Iranian writer, researcher, translator, and one of the influential figures in children’s and young adult literature and education. He worked for many years in the Ministry of Culture and served as editor of publications such as Amuzesh-o Parvaresh and Danesh‌آmuz. Beyond his educational and journalistic activities, Yaghmaei published numerous works in literature, history, research, and the adaptation of classical texts, playing an important role in introducing Iran’s literary heritage to younger generations.
