God-denial, or the New Atheism, is a subject worthy of serious reflection in our society. This book takes three steps toward understanding the phenomenon of contemporary unbelief.

The first step offers a concise overview of the status of atheism within the global academic sphere and provides an analysis of the literature of New Atheism, particularly in relation to scientific naturalism.

The second step consists of field research and both qualitative and quantitative surveys aimed at assessing the intellectual challenges posed to religious and theistic thought, especially those challenges grounded in modern scientific perspectives and theories among scholars and academics in the natural sciences.

The third step examines and evaluates the relationship between the domestic philosophical and theological research environment, with a particular focus on scholarly journals, and the central issue of atheism, modern naturalism, and their challenges to theistic thought.

These three steps highlight an important reality: the new challenges confronting religious and theistic thought have engaged the intellectual and academic elite of our society on a broad and profound scale.
