قهرمان داستان جوان شهرستانی سادهای است که برای فرار از قید و بندها و محدودیتهای جامعه سنتی روستای خودش به همهمه و هیاهوی کلانشهر تهران پناه میآورد. داستان در زمان جنگ هشت ساله میان ایران و عراق میگذرد و نویسنده به خوبی موفق شده فضای اجتماعی آن زمان را به تصویر بکشد. آدمها و دغدغههایشان، ترسها، امیدها و آرزوهایشان را روایت میکند. و تصویری عینی و ملموس از تهران دهه شصت پیش روی خواننده قرار میدهد.
