Rafīq-e Don Kāmīlū Persiska (Farsi) 2025

This book is a novel-like narrative of the adventures of Don Camillo, a Catholic priest, and Peppone, a Communist mayor, set against the backdrop of the political polarization following the Second World War. The story takes place in 1959, when Peppone leads a group of Italian communists on a trip to the Soviet Union, and Don Camillo, in disguise, secretly joins them in order to sabotage their plans and expose what he sees as the repressive nature of communism.

Throughout the journey, the long-standing rivalry between these two friend-enemies unfolds with sharp yet humane humor. Don Camillo must conceal his true identity, while Peppone, unwillingly, becomes the guardian of his secret. In a decisive moment of crisis, Don Camillo’s moral and human core is revealed, yet his secret remains intact, and the group reaches an understanding that goes beyond political ideologies.

Blending political satire, ideological confrontation, and humanism, the novel suggests that what proves effective in the “Little World” of a small village can also hold meaning on a global scale.
