Tamāman Mudirn'ha!: Persiska (Farsi) 1403

Modern! is the caustic and sad chronicle of Swiss modernity in the 1970s and 1980s: the bet on unlimited growth, the cult of the market, and technology. Between satire and intimate story, a certain Jérôme Fracasse recounts the Trente Glorieuses experienced by his father, a worker convinced of the "bright future". Documents, slogans, and tracts of the time as well as family memories depict an exalted and ambiguous period: the construction of the Rhone motorway, the opening of supermarkets, the reign of television and the car, and the massive development of tourism in the Alps. The father's happy belief in the "regime of promises", the desire to tear himself away from a past of shortages, and the whirlwind of consumer society: are the main features of this fresco where humor and seriousness are inseparable.
