تاریخ انسان سفیدپوست غربی، تاریخ غارت و چپاول و کشتار است. یا تحت نام امپراتوری روم، شرق و غرب را با لشکرکشی و برده‌داری به هم دوخت، یا ارتش صلیبی راه انداخت برای فتح سرزمین مقدس و در کوچه‌ها و خیابان‌های شهرها رود خون جاری کرد، یا از لحظه‌ی ورود به آفریقا و آمریکا که مردم ساده‌دل بومی با مهربانی به استقبالش رفت با شمشمیر و گلوله و قطع عضو و بردگی، پاسخشان را داد! این موجود پرمدعای همه‌چیزدان خون‌ریز که تاریخ و تمدنش را روی کوه‌هایی از جمجمه و دریاهایی از خون بنا نهاده، هرچه پیش آمد و به دو سه سده‌ی اخیر رسید، به دلایل مختلف، آمریکای شمال ریوگرانده را هم‌چون کعبه‌ی همه‌ی آمال و آرزوها تصویر کرد و برساخت؛ کعبه‌ی آمالی برآمده از کشتار بیش از 100 میلیون انسان بومی آمریکای شمالی! با این‌همه در لحظات ورود به قرن بیستم، رویاپردازان ایالات متحده، پس‌از کشتار ده‌ها میلیون نفر در قرن‌های شانزده، هفده، هجده و نوزده، تصمیم گرفتند با حکمرانی شمایلی از قانون، رویای آمریکایی را با تصویر ثبات همراه کنند و ازهمین‌رو با اجبار به سرخپوستان زمین‌هایی برای اسکان دادند. بخشی از این سرخپوستان، مردم قبیله‌ی اسیج بودند که در زمین‌هایی واقع در ایالت اکلاهاما اسکان داده شدند؛ زمین‌هایی که به ناگه و با کشف چاه‌های نفت، میلیون‌ها دلار ثروت را برای مردم اسیج ارمغان آورد و همین آغاز ماجرای دهشتناک سلسله قتل‌هایی بود که «دیوید گرن» در کتاب «قاتلان ماه گل» به آن‌ها پرداخته است. گرن در این ناداستان و واقع‌نگاری سترگ و شگفت‌انگیزش، قتل صدها سرخپوست اسیجی را با روایتی همراه با انبوهی سند و عکس، موبه‌مو بررسی کرده و نشان داده چطور بخش عظیمی از جامعه‌ی ایالات متحده هیچ نسبتی با اخلاق انسانی نداشته و دزدی و چپاول و قتل بخشی از فرهنگ این کشور است. «قاتلان ماه گل: پشت پرده‌ی کشتار سرخپوستان و پیدایش اف‌بی‌آی» از داستان قتل دو سرخپوست اسیجی، آنا براون و چارلز وایتهورن در 1924 آغاز شده و به ده‌ها و صدها قتلی می‌رسد که به شیوه‌های مختلف (تزریق سم، بمب‌گذاری، گلوله و ...) علیه زنان و مردان و کودکان قبیله‌ی اسیج انجام شده که به دلیل ثروت حاصل از زمین‌هایشان، سفیدپوست آمریکایی آن‌ها را لایق زنده بودن نمی‌دانست. هرچند کتاب به ریشه‌های شکل‌گیری نهاد حرفه‌ای پلیس فدرال(اف‌بی‌آی) اشاره می‌کند ولی این واقعیت را نیز گوشزد می‌کند که حتا شکل‌گیری چنین نهادی نیز درنهایت منجر به افشا و پیگیری 24 قتل از صدها قتل منجر شده که البته همین هم در دهشت رویای آمریکایی، غنیمتی‌ست!
