This two-volume collection is the result of years of study and research in the field of religion and the experience of teaching the sociology of religion by the author. This book, as the first volume of the series, is dedicated to the basics of the sociology of religion and introduces this concept in several successive chapters. The author has written his work in two parts with the titles "Sociology of Religion and its Issues in Iran" and "Total Cultural Systems: Mythology, Religion, and Ideology" It has been introduced to enter the sociological study of religion.

این مجموعه دو جلدی حاصل سال ها مطالعه و تحقیق در زمینه دین و تجربه تدریس جامعه شناسی دین توسط مولف است. کتاب حاضر به عنوان نخستین جلد مجموعه به مبانی جامعه شناسی دین اختصاص یافته و این مفهوم را در چند فصل پی در پی معرفی می کند. نگارنده اثر خود را در دو بخش با عناوین “جامعه شناسی دین و مسائل آن در ایران” و “نظام های فرهنگی تام: اسطوره، دین و ایدئولوژی” به رشته تحریر در آورده و مباحث، پرسش ها و موضوعات مهم را که به عنوان مقدماتی برای ورود به مطالعه جامعه شناختی دین مطرح اند معرفی کرده است.
