In this work, the author aims to explain the reasons for cooperation and competition between Iran and the Arab world in an analytical and critical format in a way that can achieve an average in the behaviors and policies of Iran and the Arab countries. The author's work is based on recent developments using the constructivist theory in international relations and a composite approach of cognitive foreign policy analysis. A series of emotional, emotional, and attitudinal factors examined in this work is indicative of the fact that the negative attitudes between Iran and an important part of the Arab world have led to a pessimistic interpretation of the behavior and actions of the two towards each other.

در این اثر مولف بر آن است که در قالبی تحلیلی و انتقادی، دلایل همکاری و رقابت میان ایران و جهان عرب را در نگاهی کلان شرح دهد به‌ گونه‌ای که بتوان به میانگینی در رفتارها و سیاست‌های ایران و کشورهای عربی دست یافت. مبنای کار مولف، تحولات اخیر با بهره‌گیری از نظریه سازه‌انگاری در روابط بین‌الملل و رویکردی مرکب از تحلیل سیاست خارجی شناختی بوده است. مجموعه‌ای از عوامل هیجانی، عاطفی و نگرشی بررسی‌شده در این اثر گویای این واقعیت است که نگرش‌های منفی میان ایران و بخش مهمی از جهان عرب به تفسیر بدبینانه رفتارها و اقدام‌های این دو در قبال هم انجامیده است.
