Yik qarn ḥukm'rānī-yi āb dar īrān: Persiska (Farsi) 1401

The present article aims to investigate the historical causes of the crisis in one of the most important environmental resources, i.e. water in Iran, from the perspective of policymaking and governance. The assumption of this article is that the worsening of the water problem in Iran is closely related to the way of water policy and governance. The water crisis in Iran is more than a climatic issue, and the decrease in the volume of surface flow beyond the decrease in rainfall shows the weakness of the management in the exploitation of water resources, which, in addition to the management of supply and demand, also refers to the way of making policies in the management of water resources. The consequences of mismanagement of water resources have found a scope of damage beyond the science of hydrology, and the social science of water, as a broad conceptual field, has the ability to explain and find the cause of the problem from a larger perspective.
