Universals question is one of the philosophical problems that according to some people viewpoints seems very abstract and technical to be concerned by multitude of people. But we should note two points against such imagination: 1- Research concerning every philosophical question, if sufficiently advanced, will confront us with one of the aspects of universals question and 2- Universals theory, as a historical reality, have had interpretations that less people can be indifferent against them.

مساله كلي ها از آن مسائل فلسفي است كه به نظر بعضي ها ظاهرا بيش از آن مجرد و فني مي آيد كه بتواند مورد علاقه ي عموم باشد. اما عليه اين تصور دو چيز بايد گفت: اولا، تحقيق در تقريبا هر مساله ي فلسفي، هرگاه به اندازه ي كافي پيش برده شود، ما را با يكي از جنبه هاي مساله ي كلي ها رو به رو مي كند. ثانيا، شايد به جا باشد كه بگوييم نظريه ي كلي ها، به عنوان يك واقعيت تاريخي، در نظر فلاسفه داراي تعابيري بوده اند از نوعي كه كمتر كسي مي تواند در برابر آن ها بي اعتنا باشد.
