The Khamsa of Nizami Ganjavi is a collection composed of four romantic narrative poems (romances): Khosrow and Shirin, Layla and Majnun, Haft Peykar (The Seven Beauties), and Eskandarnameh (consisting of Sharafnameh and Eqbalnameh). At the beginning of the collection stands Makhzan al-Asrar (The Treasury of Mysteries), serving as its theoretical and philosophical preface.
This collection, comprising nearly 30,000 verses and also known as the Five Treasures (Panj Ganj), is regarded as not only one of the earliest and most valuable surviving classics of Persian literature in the genre of romance (or, in Nizami's own words, havas-nameh), but also as an enduring masterpiece because of its fluent, eloquent, and deceptively simple yet highly sophisticated language. Throughout the centuries, it has remained a model and source of inspiration for many later Persian poets.

خمسه نظامی گنجوی مجموعه ای است ترکیب یافته از چهار منظومه عاشقانه (رمانس) "خسرو و شیرین"، "لیلی و مجنون"، "هفت پیکر" و "اسکندر نامه" (شرفنامه و اقبالنامه) که منظومه ی "مخزن الاسرار" به مثابه دیباچه ی نظری در آغاز آن جای گرفته است. این مجموعه ی بیش و کم سی هزار بیتی که به پنج گنج نیز معروف بوده است، از نظر نوع و وجه ادبی آن یعنی رمانس (یا به اصطلاح خود نظامی "هوس نامه") نه تنها یکی از نخستین و ارزشمندترین آثار کلاسیک به جای مانده ی ادب فارسی است، بلکه از حیث زبان سلیس و فصیح و سهل و ممتنع آن نیز اثری برجسته و ماندگار به شمار می رود و در طول سده های بعد همواره سرمشق شاعران دیگر بوده است.
