Inqirāz̤-i Silsilah-yi Ṣafavīyah va Ayyām Istilā-yi Afāghanah: Persiska (Farsi) 1401

The book The Extinction of the Safavid Dynasty was written by Lawrence Lockhart, in which the causes of the decline and fall of the Safavid dynasty are investigated, as the events and processes that led to the extinction of this dynasty are followed in detail and carefully. Lockhart said about writing this book in the introduction: "The idea of writing this book came to me when I was collecting materials to write a biography of Nader Shah, and because I had to study the period before he became famous, I came across many materials that I could not mention in the introduction of the biography. . Since this additional material was very interesting in my opinion, I decided to make it into a separate book one day. Therefore, after I finished the biography of Nader Shah, I tried very hard to gather information about the reign of Shah Sultan Hussein and two Afghan usurpers, and I used the short trip I made to Paris in 1938 and I found interesting materials in the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Library. On this occasion, I would like to thank the staff of that Ministry. Considering that the time of my stay in Paris was limited and my return to that city in the near future was apparently not possible, the aforementioned staff, despite the fact that visitors were prohibited from entering the reading room at that time, finally graciously allowed me to I use documents and archived documents in the same place. I had not yet made much progress in my research when the Second World War broke out and I had to give up my interest completely for six years. After the establishment of peace, I realized that it is not easy to start working again, especially since I had to make two long trips to Iran, the type of work was completely different from the topic I wanted."
