Just as Shakespeare is unrivaled and unrepeatable in the field of ghazals in Europe, Saadi’s glory has also dazzled the eyes of many great Persian ghazals and even the Orient. The present work, written and edited by Dr. Ismail Shafaq (born 1956), a university professor, examines aspects of the personalities and literary reputations of these two famous poets and writers. It also carefully compares and analyzes Saadi's and Shakespeare's ghazals from the perspectives of content, motivations for composition, and rhetorical beauty.
