This book has focused on the intellectual flow of modernity in Iran over the last two centuries. The history of modernity developments in Iran has always been intertwined with the "history of thought," so it has always involved examining one while carefully examining the other. The issue of modernity is also directly related to the three components of identity, civilization, and revolution, and therefore can have a significant impact in this field. This book focuses in particular on the distinction between the concepts of indigenous and national modernity and shadow and imported modernity, and attempts are made to carefully explore the various dimensions of this distinction. The series of discussions in this book about Iranian modernism, placed alongside other dimensions of the history of developments and civilization studies, form the components of the "macro narrative of transcendence"; a concern that the ten-volume collection "And You Are the Most High" is essentially based on.
