This two-volume collection contains the memoirs and autobiography of Manouchehr Farmanfarmaian. He was an important political figure of the Pahlavi era, a graduate of petroleum engineering who achieved various positions during the Pahlavi era, including: Director General of the Oil and Concessions Department, Deputy Sales Manager of the National Iranian Oil Company, and a member of the board of directors of the International Oil Consortium. Some of the contents of the first volume, which are compiled in ten chapters, include: childhood, European education, return to Iran, military service, British and Americans in Iran, Iranian governments after Qavam-ol-Saltaneh to Razmara, British and oil influence in Iran, Americans and Iranian oil, the Soviet Union and Iranian oil, the Iranian government and the Oil Affairs Department, the Mossadegh government, the nationalization of oil, residence in New York, the end of Mossadegh's career, Lieutenant General Zahedi's government, the oil consortium agreement, the trip to Cairo, and the establishment of OPEC. The final pages of the first volume contain a number of photographs of Abdolhossein and Manouchehr Farmanfarmaian and several other figures of this era and Scenes from the first oil facilities in Iran are dedicated.
