Dr. Saeed Hamidian, a talented professor of Persian literature, has tried in his various researches to reveal to the reader the secret of meaning and the secret of the content and literary coherence of a number of literary works and to help him in a broader reading of these works. The present book is a selected and very readable collection of his books and articles about Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, Panj Ganj Nizami, Bostan and Saadi's Ghazal, Hafez's Ghazal, Indian style poetry, and the works of contemporaries such as Parveen Etisami and Nima Yoshij. The collection of his writings in this book, in addition to being considered a guide for critics and younger literary researchers, also exposes the readers to a historical series of developments in old and new Persian poetry.
