The author of the book was among the first diplomats sent to Baghdad after the end of the imposed war and the occupation of Kuwait by Iraq and the re-establishment of political relations between Iran and Iraq on October 25, 1369, and since his mission continued until June 20, 1370, and there have been changes in Iran and Iraq. The relationship between the two countries was supposed to be made available to those interested in the history of Iran-Iraq relations in order to record the number of memories of his 238-day mission in the sensitive mission of Baghdad. نویسنده کتاب در زمره اولین دیپلماتهای اعزامی به بغداد بعد از خاتمه جنگ تحمیلی و اشغال کویت توسط عراق و برقراری مجدد رابطه سیاسی بین ایران و عراق در ۲۵ مهرماه ۱۳6۹ بوده و از آنجا که ماموریت وی تا ۲۰ خرداد ۱۳۷۰ ادامه یافته و در من وبطن تحولات روابط دو کشور قرار داشت تلاش نموده تا جهت ثبت در تاریخ روز شمار خاطرات ماموریت ۲۳۸ روزه خود در ماموریت حساس بغداد را در اختیار علاقمندان به تاریخ روابط ایران و عراق قرار دهد. تشخیص میزان مقبولیت کتاب در صلاحیت خواننده نکته سنج خواهد بود.
