Virginia Woolf (born January 25, 1882, London – died March 28, 1941) was a pioneering British author, critic, and feminist whose innovative narrative techniques made her one of the most influential figures in 20th-century modernist literature. Using stream-of-consciousness style, she explored the inner lives of characters and expanded the boundaries of traditional storytelling. Her major works include Mrs Dalloway, To the Lighthouse, A Room of One’s Own, Orlando, and The Waves. Woolf was a member of the Bloomsbury Group and addressed themes of gender, identity, time, and psychology in her writing. With poetic and philosophical insight, she gave voice to a new feminine perspective that continues to inspire writers and thinkers today.
ویرجینیا وولف (زادهٔ 25 ژانویه 1882، لندن – درگذشتهٔ 28 مارس 1941) نویسنده، منتقد و فمینیست برجستهٔ بریتانیایی بود که با نوآوری در سبک روایت، به یکی از چهره‌های تأثیرگذار ادبیات مدرن قرن بیستم تبدیل شد. او با بهره‌گیری از تکنیک جریان سیال ذهن، به کاوش درونیات شخصیت‌ها پرداخت و مرزهای سنتی داستان‌نویسی را گسترش داد. از مهم‌ترین آثار او می‌توان به خانم دالووی، به‌سوی فانوس دریایی، اتاقی از آن خود، اورلاندو و موج‌ها اشاره کرد. وولف از اعضای گروه روشنفکری «بلومزبری» بود و در آثارش به مسایل جنسیت، هویت، زمان و روان انسان پرداخت. او با نگاهی شاعرانه و فلسفی، صدای زنانه‌ای نو در ادبیات خلق کرد که تا امروز الهام‌بخش نویسندگان و منتقدان است.
