It is said that Greece is the birthplace of philosophy and the Greeks created the first city-states. The necessity and type of government started with Greek philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle and continues until now. می گویند زادگاه فلسفه کشور یونان است و یونانیان اولین دولت-شهرها را به وجود آوردند. ضرورت و نوع حکومت از فلاسفه یونان همچون افلاطون و ارسطو آغاز گشته و تاکنون ادامه دارد. این که نوع حکومت باید چه شرایطی داشته باشد،دموکراسی باشد یا استبدادی،حدود و ثغور آن کجاست؟ آزادی چه مفهومی دارد و آیا باید از حکومت ها پیروی کرد یا خیر از مباحث مطرح شده در کتاب فلسفه سیاسی است. در قدم اول فلسفه سیاسی به نظریات فلاسفه یونان قدیم تا هگل و مارکس و فوکو پرداخته شده است. ناگفته نماند انقلاب 1789فرانسه از نقاط عطف تغییر حکومت و سیاست در کتاب حاضر است.
