This fiction is the first book that translated to Persian. The criticisers named this fiction the Holy Bible for followers of "Decline custom", because all the specialties if this movement were in the Dasnit the only personality in this fiction: hating of industrial society, sadness feeling which is from "suffering of the time". This disgusted aristocrat person from society and humanity, that wanted to swim in the opposite of normal life and when he failed he searched for his survival in God's faith.

اين كتاب اولين رمان ترجمه شده اين نويسنده به فارسي است. منتقدان، "بيراه" را انجيل پيروان "مكتب انحطاط" ناميده اند، زيرا تمامي ويژگي هاي اين جريان فكري به بارزترين شكل در شخصيت داسنت، تنها پرسوناژ اين رمان، تجلي يافته است: دلزدگي نسبت به جامعه ي صنعتي، احساس ملالي كه ريشه در "رنج زمانه" دارد، رخوت و درماندگي چاره ناپذير، و روان نژندي مسموم و شريرانه ي خاص پايان قرن نوزدهم. اين اشرافزاده منزجر از جامعه و بشريت كه مي خواهد "خلاف جريان" عادي زندگي شنا كند و ميكوشد در حس گرايي ظريف طبعانه بي قراري هايش را فرونشاند، و چون به بن بست ميرسد، نجات خويش را در ايمان مي جويد.
