The author, Abu Talib Yahya ibn Hossein Harouni, is one of the famous and influential scholars of Zaidiyyah. This book is one of the oldest works in the historiography of Zaydia, especially Zaydia of Iran. Also, it is considered the third work in the tradition of Zaydiyya historiography, the information contained in it is very important for the knowledge of the history of Zaydiyya and the Alevis of Tabaristan, and other authors of Zaydiyya have obtained their information from it. Among his works on the discussion of the word: Al-Da'amah fi Ta'fiq al-Imamah, Mubai al-Adla fi al-Kalam, Ziadat Sharh al-Asul. In jurisprudence: Tahreer fi al-kashf on the texts of al-Aima al-Nahaweer, al-Nazim.

مؤلف، ابوطالب یحیی‌بن حسین هارونی، از عالمان بنام و پر اثر زیدیه است. این کتاب از آثار کهن در تاریخ نگاری زیدیه، خاصه زیدیه ایران است. هم چنین سومین اثر در سنت تاریخ‌نگاری زیدیه محسوب می‌شود که اطلاعات مندرج در آن در شناخت تاریخ زیدیه و علویان طبرستان از اهیمت فراوانی برخوردار است و دیگر مؤلفان زیدیه اطلاعات خود را از آن اخذ کرده‌اند. از جمله آثار او در بحث کلام: الدعامة فی تثبیت الامامه، مبای الادله فی‌الکلام، زیادات شرح الاصول. در فقه: التحریر فی‌الکشف عن نصوص الائمه النحاویر، الناظم.
