«Badri» is a novel by Behrooz Badakhshan that tells the story of a man in his early thirties who survives through romantic relationships with wealthy women. When he meets Badri, he begins to question the empty romantic deceptions that have defined his life and searches for a new kind of truth that could transform his future.

Set in Isfahan, around the Zayandeh Rood and the Vahid neighborhood (Sahra-Rowghan), the novel portrays forgotten communities and gives voice to people living on the margins of a rapidly changing city. Through the narrator’s journey, Badakhshan explores relationships, self-discovery, memory, and the disappearance of old neighborhoods beneath modern urban life.

Behrooz Badakhshan (1964–2021) was a writer and playwright whose works were largely unpublished during his lifetime. After his death, his surviving manuscripts were collected and gradually published by his friends. «Badri» reveals his distinctive literary vision, marked by sharp observation, dark humor, emotional depth, and a profound engagement with human contradictions. The novel is both a personal exploration of relationships and a portrait of a city and its forgotten inhabitants.
