The book Anthropology of Religion contains 23 lectures on the anthropology of religious culture, organized into five sections. After a general note and introduction on religious studies, the first section of the book deals with the historical-religious and mythological dimensions of five religious culture-making figures in the scope of Shiite culture, namely Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.), Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.), Abbas ibn Ali (a.s.), Fatimah al-Zahra (a.s.), and Fatimah al-Kalabyah (Umm al-Bayni). In other sections, categories such as the test and the test-taker, religious rituals and ceremonies, symbolic religious structures and slogans, and religious-magical beliefs and behaviors are discussed.

کتاب مردم‌شناسی دین دربردارندۀ 23 گفتار دربارۀ مردم‌شناسی فرهنگ دینی است که در پنج بخش تنظیم شده است. پس از یک یادداشت کلی و پیش‌گفتاری در باب دین‌پژوهی،در بخش نخست کتاب به ابعاد تاریخی-مذهبی و اسطوره‌ای پنج شخصیت فرهنگ‌ساز مذهبی در گسترۀ فرهنگ شیعی ، یعنی علی‌بن‌ابی‌طالب(ع) ، حسین‌بن‌علی(ع)،عباس‌بن‌علی(ع)،فاطمه‎‌زهرا(س) و فاطمۀ کلابیه(ام‌البنین) پرداخته شده است. در بخش‌های دیگر مقولاتی مانند آزمون و مناسک‌گذار،مناسک و آیین‌های مذهبی، سازه‌ها و شعارهای نمادین مذهبی و باورها و رفتارهای مذهبی-جادویی موردبحث قرار گرفته است.
