Mīrās-i Nā'mumkin: Nisbat-i Naẓarīyah-yi Adabī bā Adabīyat-i Fārsī: Persiska (Farsi) 1404

Contemporary Persian literature has encountered difficulties both in establishing a connection with the Persian-language literary tradition and in finding its place in the world literary space. These two problems are not as far apart as they might seem. A moment of rupture has been recognized and called literary modernity. But it is not clear exactly where the rupture occurred and in relation to which dimensions of tradition continuity still exists. On the one hand, the faculty of literature no longer knows what it is doing and cannot even provide a coherent definition of what it calls literature; and on the other hand, the literature in production finds neither a way to use the rich possibilities of tradition nor can it provide an absolutely new understanding of literature. Both groups, in moments of desperation, take refuge in literary theory in order to perhaps find a solution, but apparently they do not reach a conclusion. The question is what form of understanding and application of literary theory might be able to open a window in this closed space.
