Based on a plan based on human understanding, the present article examines a unit in language that is one of the most confusing axioms institutionalized in contemporary thought. In the upcoming book, the author seeks to find out how uncertain and unknown the phenomenon called the word is in the study of language, and how far the assumption of its obviousness is consistent with superstitious beliefs.

نوشته‌ی حاضر بر پایه‌ی طرحی مبتنی بر درک انسان به بررسی واحدی در زبان می‌پزدازد که یکی از پرابهام‌ترین بدیهیات نهادینه‌ شده در اندیشه‌ی معاصر است. در کتاب پیش‌رو، نویسنده به دنبال آن است تا معلوم کند، پدیده‌ای به نام واژه در مطالعه‌ی زبان تا چه میزان غیر قطعی و نامعلوم است و فرض بر بدیهی‌بودن‌اش، تا چه اندازه با باورهایی خرافی همسوست.
