The photomontage is the method of combining photo elements to achieve single images. Since its inception, this method has always been one of the most attractive areas of image production, with the challenge of fantasy and reality. There is no exact definition for this method of artistic expression. The invention of the term photomontage is attributed to the Dadaists of Berlin, but its origins can be traced back to the early decades of the emergence of photography, especially in the composite images of pictorial artists. The combined printing method of the visualizes, which was often used to produce allegorical images, from the time of the Dadaism school onwards, with distinctive methods such as photo collage, photomontage, fake photo, protoplasts, digital illustration, etc., with fantasy goals, and It has revealed its political, social and promotional evolution. The book on the fields of photomontage has been written in eight fields with the aim of examining the fields affecting the emergence and evolution of photomontage from the beginning of the invention of photography to recent years, based on cognitive style events and the transformation of tools and techniques. Considering the prevalence of photomontage in recent years in the photography and visual arts community of Iran and considering the fact that, except for a few articles, there is no comprehensive source published in Persian on this topic; It is hoped that this book will take a small step in introducing the historical and cognitive style of photomontage to photographers and those interested in this field.
