The Iranian National Olympic and Paralympic Committee established a coherent program for recording the oral history of sports in Iran by forming the Sports Oral History Policy Council. The oral history of Iranian wrestling is one of the projects of this program, which is dedicated to talking with the heroes and veterans of wrestling in Iran. This book is the fourth book in the collection of oral history of Iranian wrestling, which is dedicated to the veteran wrestling champion and coach, Ali Akbar Heydari. Ali Akbar Heydarizadeh) 1320 (Tafaresh) is a veteran wrestler who won a bronze medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and a silver medal at the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok. In addition to several championship titles at the national level, he also has the gold medal of the Tbilisi Cup and the gold medal of the 1967 World Championships in Bulgaria. He was also one of the coaches of the Iranian freestyle wrestling team in the 1977 World Championship.

کمیته ملی المپیک و پارالمپیک ایران با تشکیل شورای سیاست گذاری تاریخ شفاهی ورزش برنامه منسجمی را برای ثبت تاریخ شفاهی ورزش ایران پایه گذاری کرد. تاریخ شفاهی کشتی ایران یکی از طرحهای این برنامه است که به گفت وگو با قهرمانان و پیشکسوتان ورزش کشتی در ایران اختصاص یافته است. این کتاب چهارمین اثر از مجموعه تاریخ شفاهی کشتی ایران است که به قهرمان و مربی با سابقه کشتی، علی اکبر حیدری اختصاص یافته است. علی اکبر حیدری زاده) ۱۳۲۰ (تفرش) کشتی گیر پیشکسوت برنده مدال برنز المپیک ١٩٦٤ توکیو و مدال نقره بازیهای آسیایی ١٩٦٦ بانکوک است. او علاوه بر چند عنوان قهرمانی در سطح ملی، نشان طلای جام تفلیس و نشان طلای مسابقات جهانی ١٩٦٧ در بلغارستان را هم در کارنامه خود دارد. وی همچنین یکی از مربیان تیم ملی کشتی آزاد ایران در مسابقات قهرمانی جهان ۱۹۷۷ بود.
