The main goal and concern of the author in this book is to examine and analyze the changes and developments of rituals. It is a discussion of Iranian Shia mourning ceremonies and rituals throughout history and especially in the contemporary period and understanding the logic of these changes; In response to the question of whether ritual changes can be considered subject to an empirical-theoretical model or not. His main and fundamental approach in this regard is to examine religious assemblies and rituals as a social phenomenon; A phenomenon in the text and the heart of the society whose coordinates and changes are affected by the state of the society in different periods. This book has two parts, which are: a "Historical Review" and a "Sociological Review" the first part, with an analytical, causal, and functional view, of the history of the origin, development, continuity, and changes of mourning ceremonies and rituals from the Ashura event to the period The contemporary has been examined in a timeline. In the second part, first, the basic concepts in the analysis of mourning rituals and religious delegations are defined and then different models for the typology of delegations are examined. The following focuses on a fourfold model of the major types of religious bodies in contemporary Iran, which are: "Traditional", "Political during the war", "Political during the post-war period" and "Popular" in addition to the type the "pseudo" branch of the Board"), in independent chapters, the characteristics and coordinates of each of the mentioned species have been examined and analyzed in detail.
