Nolan has become the Kubrick of our time. Like Kubrick, he went through the realm of independent films and tested himself by making a smaller studio film, Insomnia, before gaining the confidence to make a big-budget film like Batman Begins. Then he mixed two genres of science-fiction and action together by making indoctrination and turned an unconventional and personal project into a best-selling film; Just like Kubrick did with 2001, a space odyssey.
