This book is a summary of ups and downs of a history of Persian army from Achaemenians to the end of the Pahlavi dynasty. In this book is trying to explain simply the structure of army in past periods documentary and forming of military changes in recent centuries. Establishing a uniform army and dissolution the color forces by Riza Khan is the most important part of the book. In this part by aiding the published writings is try to analyze the factors of dissolution of army in 1941. The reestablishment of the triple forces in years after World War II and their formation and at last dissolution of Dynasty's army are criticised in the last chapter.

اين كتاب شرح مختصري از تاريخ پر فراز و نشيب ارتش ايران از عصر هخامنشي تا پايان دوران پهلوي است. در اين كتاب سعي شده است تا ساختار ارتش در دوره هاي گذشته به استناد مدارك نسبتا" محدود تشريح شده و چگونگي شكل گيري تحولات نظام در سده هاي اخير با بياني ساده در اختيار خوانندگان قرار گيرد. تشكيل قشون متحدالشكل و انحلال قواي رنگارنگ توسط رضاخان سردار سپه، بخش مهمي از كتاب را تشكيل مي دهد. در اين قسمت نيز كوشش بر آن بوده است تا با ياري نوشته هاي منتشر شده در سال هاي اخير، علل فروپاشي ارتش در شهريور 1320 شمسي مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار بگيرد. تشكيل مجدد نيروهاي سه گانه در سال هاي بعد از جنگ جهاني دوم و چگونگي تكوين آن ها و در نهايت فروپاشي ارتش شاهنشاهي در بخش پاياني كتاب مورد بحث قرار گرفته است.
