Studying the present book, the reader recognizes the thinking changes during recent 30 years concerning religion and its position among people, since both "Shari'ati" and "Soroush" are considered as famous religious men who look at religion from a new and intact view and analyze it. The reason for selection of these two great is first because of unique impression of thought which both have had in the field of religious thoughts and second, "Shari'ati" and "Soroush" are among moderate religious opposition wing of the country

با مطالعه كتاب حاضر، خواننده پي به سير تحولات فكري سي سال اخير كشور در باب دين و جايگاه آن در ميان مردم مي برد، چرا كه هم دكتر "شريعتي" و هم دكتر "سروش" از رجال بنام ديني خارج از حوزه محسوب مي شوند كه از يك نظرگاه جديد و بكر به دين مي نگرند و آن را نظاره و كالبد شكافي مي كنند. علت انتخاب اين دو بزرگوار، يكي تأثير بي نظير فكري بوده است كه اين بزرگان در عرصه تفكرات ديني و مذهبي مردم داشته اند و ديگر اينكه هم "شريعتي" و هم "سروش" متعلق به جناح اپوزيسيون ملايم مذهبي كشور مي باشند
