The author of the novella is an honorary writer of Azerbaijan – Akram Aylisli. His works have been translated from his native Azerbaijani into a number of languages in the former Soviet Union and around the world. His novella “Stone dreams” was published in the Russian “Drujba narodov” magazine by copyright translation. The novella caused a flurry of anger in Azerbaijan, the writer was stripped from all his state titles and was cut off his presidential stipend and became subject of persecutions and harassment. The novella is of high artistic value, raises a number of issues of importance for the Armenian reader, is read with great interest and gives food for thinking. We’d like to inform the reader that Aylisli is the writer’s literary pseudonym which he took from the place name Agoulis (Aylisli in Azerbaijani). The girl mentioned in the novel is the famous Armenian painter Lusik Agouletsi. “Edit Print” publishing house commits itself to donate 10% of the book profit as a charity to the funds of immigrants from Armenia and Azerbaijan.
