تخت پروکروستس نوشته ی نسیم نیکولاس طالب، کتابی فلسفی است که به صورت جملات قصار نوشته شده است.نام کتاب اشاره به شخصیتی متعلق به اساطیر یونان به نام پروکروستس دارد که راهزنی بود که کنار جاده ای که آتن می رسید زندگی می کرد او به بهانه مهمان نوازی رهگذران را به خانه خود می برد و روی تختی می خواباند آنگاه اگر از طول تخت کوتاه تر بودند آن قدر آن ها را می کشید یا بدنشان را با چکش می کوبید تا هم طول تخت شوند و اگر بلند تر از تخت بودند از پاهایشان می برید تا به اندازه تخت شوند. هر یک از جملات قصار این کتاب، به نوعی دربارۀ تخت پروکروستس هستند ما انسان ها، با محدودیت دانش و چیزهایی مواجه هستیم که نمی بینیم (اعم از نادیدنی ها و ناشناخته ها) و این تنش را با گنجاندن زندگی و جهان در ایده های شکننده ی بازاری، طبقه بندی های تقلیل دهنده، لغت نامه های اختصاصی و روایت های از پیش آماده، که گاهی اوقات هم پیامدهای شدیدی دارد، بر طرف می کنیم. همه ی ما در وجودمان پروکروستسی داریم که افکار، عقاید، شخصیت و رفتار دیگران را با آن می سنجیم و اگر متناسب با تخت اندیشه ی ما نباشند آنها را مورد حمله قرار می دهیم.
