دانلد ادوین وستلِیک (با نام مستعار ریچارد استارک)، (۱۲ ژوئیهٔ ۱۹۳۳–۳۱ دسامبر ۲۰۰۸) نویسندهٔ آمریکایی، در طول دوران نویسندگی‌اش بیش از صد رمان نوشت. تخصص او ادبیات جنایی، به‌خصوص داستان‌هایی دربارهٔ سرقت‌های کمیک بود و گاهی در ژانر علمی ـ تخیلی و ژانرهای دیگر هم می‌نوشت. وستلیک بیشتر به خاطر خلق دو شخصیت تبهکار حرفه‌ای معروف بود که هرکدام ستارهٔ یک مجموعهٔ طولانی بودند: پارکر، شخصیتی خشن و بی‌رحم (که با نام مستعار ریچارد استارک منتشر شده)، و جان دورتموندر که داستان‌هایش بیشتر طنزگونه است. او سه بار موفق به دریافت جایزهٔ ادگار شد، و در کنار جو گورسند ویلیام ال. دی‌آندریا یکی از معدود نویسندگانی بود که در سه دستهٔ مختلف برندهٔ ادگار شد (۱۹۶۸، بهترین رمان، God Save The Mark؛ ۱۹۹۰، بهترین داستان کوتاه، Too Many Crooks؛ ۱۹۹۱، بهترین فیلمنامه، The Grifters). در سال ۱۹۹۳، انجمن معمایی‌نویسان آمریکا به وستلیک لقب استاد بزرگ داد؛ بالاترین افتخاری که نویسندگان این ژانر از سوی این انجمن کسب می‌کنند.

Why not? Just because no one had ever tried it before? What better place for a heist, if it was timed right, than a football stadium? There'd have to be money in the box office; the game was a sellout. Every eye in the place would be glued to the action down on the field. Even the getaway would be a cinch. Who was going to challenge an ambulance, either going out or coming in? An ambulance, with one of the seven at the wheel in a white uniform, and the swag neatly shrouded in the back. The only problem was changing cars, and Parker had that one figured, too. So, they'd find an abandoned ambulance. Who was to know who'd been driving it? Because by that time, Parker and the other six would be back at the hideaway divvying up the loot!
