"People" has been present as a central signifier in the political discourses of contemporary history. The fluid presence of this sign is such that it is central in all political schools and ideologies. The government, as the most important manifestation of the historical institution and the manifestation of political rationality, is devoid of meaning without the people, so the people find meaning when there is a government and a nation is formed as a result. The history of the last hundred years of Islamic Iran has also witnessed the presence of this central signifier in the discourses of social forces in the process of seeking change from the constitution to the Islamic revolution. The concepts and ideas that entered Iran from the Western cultural sphere have played a great role in the semantic evolution of the people from constitutionalism to this point, and at the same time, they have not been without influence in the movement of tradition for self-discovery and redefining of the people. These efforts have been associated with the formation of the government and the institution of the parliament and the relative realization of some principles of constitutionalism. Based on this, people have appeared in numerous and even conflicting speeches and texts, which represent theoretical and practical challenges to find the way to the necessities and possibilities of the new era. Language is the most important platform for representing, creating, and reproducing political ideals, witnessing transformations, and relative diversity in ideology and expression of power. But the dynamic political language, despite its multiplicity and diversity, forms a general platform; A multiple and evolving system with the title "Iranian political language" that has flowed over time. "People" has been represented and appeared in different ways in this language.
