Professor Sharif Lotfi's impact on the structuring of Iranian music with his continuous effort to desire an academic system along the centuries of traditionalism and science avoidance is indeed praiseworthy and cannot be ignored apart from the many students who have learned from him in the past decades. And now they are in the guise of an artist or a teacher, and their effective actions in the matter of playing, conducting an orchestra, and composing, the reality is that if none of these were in his career, only the establishment of the first music school in Iran would be seen. It was enough for his name to shine forever on the art of this land.

تاثیر استاد شریف لطفی در ساختارمندی موسیقی ایران با کوشش پیوسته برای میل به یک نظام آکادمیک در امتداد قرن ها سنت گرایی و علم گریزی به واقع قابل ستایش و غیر قابل چشم پوشی ست جدای از خیل دانشجویانی که در دهه های گذشته از محضر ایشان آموخته اند و حالا خود در کسوت هنرمندی یا معلمی،اند و هم کنشهای موثر ایشان در امر نوازندگی رهبری ارکستر و آهنگسازی واقعیت این است که اگر در کارنامه او هیچکدام از اینها نبود و تنها همان تاسیس نخستین دانشکده موسیقی ایران به دیده می آمد. کافی بود تا نام ایشان بر تارک هنر این سرزمین تا همیشه بدرخشد.
