Here on the island of Mauritius, an old doctor is on his deathbed and his grandson and daughter are at his bedside. Whether they are saddened by the approaching death of the old man or not depends on the depth of the wound that the violence has left on their hearts. Ananda Devi makes the reader watch the painful and violent conversations between these women and the old man through the inner voices of the narrator in the novel Sari Sabz. Gradually, among these wounds, elements from the family's past are revealed; Reprimands, memories, and the mysterious face of the doctor's wife who died in terrible circumstances... and these women do not let the cruel abuser rest in death.
