In this book, I have devoted my attention to three topics in particular. In the first topic, I have discussed how today's Muslim societies implement Shiite religious traditions and what reforms they have made to them. As a part of this search, I researched the content of the old written traditions and paid attention to how these themes are manifested in the local poems and religious rituals of today. In the second topic, I have discussed things that I see as points of convergence between Islamic religious understanding and Christian religious understanding, or more specifically, between the religious life of Shia Muslims and the religious life of the followers of the Catholic Church. I have not included this topic in the book only to make Shia rituals more understandable for some readers who have a non-Islamic background, but also to show the followers of Islamic and Christian traditions a way to distinguish between them. learn things In various places of this book, and especially in the last chapter, I talk about the possibility that Islam and Christianity, which share an Abrahamic heritage with Judaism, can cooperate in spiritual work in the 21st century. Finally, I have tried to convey to the readers my experiences as an American researching Shia communities in India.
