Tāvān-i zīstan: Persiska (Farsi) 1400

Martina Mayok was born in Bytom, Poland in 1985 and immigrated to America with her mother at the age of five. His mother learned English after arriving in America. They first settled in New Jersey, in an immigrant neighborhood, where the majority of the residents had jobs such as factory workers, cleaning houses, and taking care of the elderly. The two then moved to Chicago. Mayock received his BA in Literature from the University of Chicago and then continued his studies as a playwright at the Yale School of Theater and then at the Juilliard School. Mayok's works are heavily influenced by his childhood experiences of immigration and living in slums. In his plays, he has tried to be the voice of those whose voices are not heard by others, such as immigrants, women, and physically challenged people. As a playwright, he has won many awards such as New York Playwrights Award (Tony), Greenfield Award, Lilly Award, etc. Also, in 2018, he won the Pulitzer Literary Prize for the play Tawan Ziwan. This play is his first work that is available to Persian-speaking audiences.
