History of formation of frontiers of modern Iran which is considered as the history of Iran in the contemporary world in a limited measure, is an important and complicated history, a collection of changes and coincidence of several causes like competition and facing of the world powers from one hand and complicated relations of local powers and central state from the other. Recognition and separation of each one of these factors and explanation of historical movement, and their reciprocation within the framework of frontier changes in the east of Iran during the late years of 19th century untill the mid-intervals of the next century, are the main subjects of the present study

تاريخ شكل گيري مرزهاي ايران جديد كه در عين حال در مقياسي محدود تاريخچه چگونگي گام نهادن ايران به جهان معاصر نيز محسوب مي گردد، تاريخ مهم و پيچيده اي است، مجموعه اي از تحول و تلاقي چندين و چند عامل مختلف چون رقابت و رويارويي قدرت هاي جهاني از يك سو و روابط غامض قدرت هاي محلي و دولت مركزي از سوي ديگر، شناسايي و تفكيك هر يك از اين عوامل و توضيح سير تاريخي و تأثير متقابل آنها در چارچوب تحولات مرزي شرق ايران در فاصله سال هاي پاياني قرن نوزدهم تا مراحل مياني قرن بعد، موضوع اصلي اين بررسي را تشكيل مي دهد.
