BDV is not some horrible man-eating giant. No, he's a good Big and Kind Giant. Sophie was lucky that in the hour of the dark forces she was abducted by the BDV, and not by the Bloodworms, not by the Meat-swallowed, or not by some other of the giants, otherwise she would have already been eaten for breakfast. Learning that the giants are rushing to England at full speed to have a snack with little Englishmen, Sophie understands: you can't sit back! We must stop the villains, put an end to the murders once and for all! And without BDV she will not cope with this task.

Софи повезло, что в час тёмных сил её похитил БДВ, а не Кровушкипопьём, не Мясазаглотнём или не кто-то другой из великанов, — иначе её бы уже съели на завтрак. Узнав о том, что великаны на всех парах мчатся в Англию, чтобы закусить маленькими англичанами, Софи понимает: нельзя сидеть сложа руки! Надо остановить негодяев, покончить с убийствами раз и навсегда! И без БДВ ей с этой задачей не справиться.
