Anna received a notebook as a gift from her father for 13 years and kept a diary for three years, while she and her family (German Jews) were hiding in a refuge from the Nazis. In the diary, she talks about what is happening around her - about domestic troubles, about her feelings, about family and friends - and all this against the backdrop of the catastrophe of war. The graphic novel was created by Ari Folman and David Polonsky - screenwriter and artist of the Oscar nominated and received the Golden Globe cartoon Waltz with Bashir. By 2019, Ari and David are preparing a cartoon for the "Diary". The adaptation was approved by the Anne Frank Foundation, which oversees publications around the world.
