In Search of Understanding the Universe is a journey of curiosity about the unknowns of the universe, from the expansion of the universe to black holes, dark matter and energy, and extraterrestrial life. This journey takes place in the context of the history of science, and in particular the history of physics from ancient times to the present day. During this journey through space and time, we examine the structure and evolution of stars and galaxies. Then, by exploring the Big Bang model, the cosmic microwave background radiation, and large-scale structures, we come to examine the beginning, structure, and history of the universe. Within the lines of this book, the foundations of Newtonian physics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, special and general relativity, and cosmology are recounted.

در جست‌وجوی فهم کیهان سفری است برای کنجکاوی در باب ناشناخته‌های عالم، از انبساطِ کیهان گرفته تا سیاهچاله‌ها و ماده و انرژیِ تاریک و حیات فرازمینی. این سفر در بسترِ تاریخ علم و به‌خصوص تاریخِ فیزیک از دوران باستان تا زمان معاصر رخ می‌دهد. در اثنای این سفر در فضا و زمان، به بررسی ساختار و تحول ستارگان و کهکشان‌ها می‌پردازیم. سپس با کاوش دربارهٔ مدل مهبانگ، تابش زمینۀ ‌کیهانی و ساختارهای بزرگ‌مقیاس به بررسیِ آغاز و ساختار و تاریخچهٔ کیهان می‌رسیم. در خلالِ سطرهای این کتاب بنیادهای فیزیکِ نیوتنی، الکترومغناطیس، مکانیک کوانتومی، نسبیت خاص و عام و کیهان‌شناسی بازگو می‌شود.
