Edward Backhouse Eastwick's travelogue was published in London in 1864. Eastwick became Iran's ambassador when the political relations between Iran and England were semi-suspended and unstable since Iran's attack on Herat, and British ministers and chargé d'affaires in Iran were constantly changing. This travelogue has depicted the old Tehran and the position of the Ministry of Mukhtar and the government of Iran. However, it is exaggerated and biased about the residences of Iranian cities and the beliefs and beliefs of the people.

سفرنامه «ادوارد بکهاوس ایستویک» در سال 1864 میلادی در لندن به چاپ رسید. ایستویک در دوره‌ای مأمور ایران شد که روابط سیاسی ایران و انگلستان از زمان حمله ایران به هرات نیمه‌معلق و بی‌ثبات بود و وزرای مختار و کاردارهای انگلستان در ایران پی‌درپی تغییر می‌کردند. این سفرنامه، تهران قدیم و موقعیت وزارت مختار و دولت ایران را به روشنی تصویر کرده است، هرچند در مورد اقامتگاه‌های بین‌راهی شهرهای ایران و همچنین درباره اعتقادات و باورهای مردم، اغراق‌آمیز و مغرضانه است.
