The present descriptive glossary contains more than 1600 entries, which include key and important terms of research methods and methodological topics in the vast realm of social sciences, communication, and humanities. The unique feature of this dictionary, which was carefully compiled by Professor Hassan Bashir over many years, is that the definitions of the words are extracted from reliable foreign and domestic sources in the form of direct quotations with page numbers. This helps the researchers to easily access the definitions of the desired terms from different perspectives in the shortest possible time, in addition to studying and learning the concepts, they can use them when writing articles, dissertations, or books.

واژه‌نامۀ توصیفی حاضر شامل بیش از 1600 مدخل است که دربرگیرندۀ اصطلاحات کلیدی و مهم روش پژوهش و مباحث روش‌شناختی در قلمرو گستردۀ علوم اجتماعی، ارتباطات و علوم انسانی است. ویژگی منحصربه‌فرد این واژه‌نامه، که استاد حسن بشیر در طی سال‌های متمادی آن را به دقت گردآوری کرد، این است که تعاریف واژه‌ها به صورت نقل‌قول‌های مستقیم با ذکر شمارۀ صفحه از منابع معتبر خارجی و داخلی استخراج شده است. این امر به پژوهشگران کمک می‌کند تا در کمترین زمان به‌راحتی به تعاریف اصطلاحات مدنظر خود از منظرهای مختلف دسترسی پیدا کرده، علاوه بر مطالعه و یادگیری مفاهیم، هنگام نگارش مقاله، پایان‌نامه یا کتاب از آنها بهره گیرند.
