In our society, becoming a faculty member is the first career path that Ph.D. graduates are expected to take, and maybe even forced to, as they answer the curious mind of society why they haven't married, why they haven't had children, why they haven't had a second child, etc. They should also ask why they are not members of the faculty yet. However, the actual experience of taking on a role is different from looking at it from a distance. Faculty members of universities and research institutes all over the world have to obey the legal instructions to be accepted and remain in this position; Instructions that sometimes deprive them of the joy of scientific work. This book is a review of the experience of some university faculty members in Iran in two periods of the 70s and 90s; A review of their experience of the process of recruitment and activism in the network of power relations in universities, their dreams and the creative ways they have used to get out of unfavorable situations.
