Born in Tehran in December 1939, Hossein Mohieddin Elahi Ghomshe'i completed his education at Danesh Elementary School, Marvari High School, and the University of Tehran's Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies. He also received traditional religious education from his father, Mehdi Elahi Ghomshe'i, and other scholars. Ghomshe'i then taught at the University of Tehran and other higher education institutions both in Iran and abroad, while also dedicating himself to writing and translating works on mysticism, literature, and aesthetics. He briefly served as the head of the National Library of Iran. His publications include selections and commentaries on classical texts such as Rumi's Fiyh Ma Fiyh and Attar's Mantiq al-Tair, a commentary on Shabestari's Gulshan-e-Raz, collections of essays, translations of Shakespeare's speeches and Khalil Gibran's The Prophet, a review of translated Islamic works in English, an edited Diwan of Hafez, selections from Alchemy, and the "365 Days with..." series focusing on figures like Aba Saadi, English literature, and Rumi, as well as editions of Khayyam's Rubaiyat, selections from Shahnameh, and translations of the Dua of Kumail and Henry and Dyke's An Kheradmand.
