Compiling and studying history not only connects us to the past but also shows that what we have now is the product of the efforts and wisdom of the past, and this strengthens our motivation to preserve these positive and precious achievements and to learn from them to build the future. Today, when an 18-year-old young man, in a more serious stage of his social life, steps into Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), an important hub for training the country's engineering, technical and scientific workforce, he should know how this important institution was created and grew; and why and how he can act to preserve, promote and hand it over to the next generation. This book is a collective effort to portray the 60-year history of a university that, relying on a 100-year history, has been able to transform from a small institution into a reputable, large and influential university, playing an important role in the development and prosperity of Iran and serving the people, and being proud and fruitful.
