دیدگاه معرفت شناسی کودک، کلمه به کلمه، با حیرت آغاز می‌شود و برای کودک سوال‌های گوناگونی مطرح می‌شود. کودک استعدادی برای بروزِ خلاقیت دارد که او را در مقابلِ بزرگ‌سالان قرار می‌دهد. قدرتِ خلاقیت کودک در شور و هیجان و تمایلِ او برای تغییرِ سرنوشت و فعالیت‌های بی‌شمارِ مشتاقانه‌اش تجلی می‌یابد. سخن کودک مظهرِ اجزایی از دنیای پیشِ‌رو است. فعالیت‌های کودک باید سرچشمه شادمانی‌اش باشد و کسب عادت‌های جدید نه برای محدود کردن، بلکه بایستی سبب افزایش اعتماد به نفس کودک شود. در این روند، معلم دیگر کسی نیست که صرفاً آموزش می‌دهد، بلکه کسی است که خودش نیز در گفت‌وگو با دانش‌آموزان یاد می‌گیرد.
