For more than a century and a half, development has been the most important concern of the governance and management system of this land, and for nearly seven decades, the wealth generated by the sale of oil has helped realize the dream of development. Despite all the efforts, I think it is unlikely that anyone today would consider Iran a developed country. Especially if we do not ignore the damages caused by the actions of this era and put them in the cost-benefit balance. I believe that this trend will not change unless the natural, historical, and cultural context of Iran is taken into account; something that, in my opinion, has been completely neglected. Being content with the land and refusing the context is the most important affliction that managers and planners have suffered from, especially in the last seven decades, and if we still intend to live in the shadow of this land, there is no other way but to study the historical experience of living in this mysterious and mysterious land again.
